Emotional Wellness for men
Welcome to Selfed, a unique podcast that delves into the unexplored territory of emotional growth and maturity for men. In a society that often encourages men to be more emotionally expressive and available, we aim to show you what that journey truly looks like. Through real-life experiences, insights, and challenges, we guide men on the path to emotional wellness.
My journey into emotional maturity began through therapy, Yoga Teacher Training, self-help books, and working in spaces typically dominated by women. But what truly transformed my understanding was connecting with other men, hearing their struggles, and having open, honest conversations about the immaturity, avoidance, and ignorance we often face. These discussions were not only eye-opening but also crucial to my own healing and growth.
Selfed is not just a podcast, it's a personal journey that I embarked on during the pandemic. After a pause following my “graduation“ from therapy, I've returned with even greater intention. Whether you're here to listen to the podcast, read our blog, or both, you’ll find a wealth of experiences and resources that I've personally found helpful on my journey of self-discovery and emotional wellness.

Selfed 45: Apathy is the symptom of hatred
In this episode of Selfed, we explore how apathy manifests as a symptom of hatred, particularly in the context of modern masculinity and gender relations. By challenging societal norms, this episode offers a counter-culture perspective on the impact of sex positivity, societal indifference, and the emotional struggles men face today.
Selfed 37 - SEASON TWO BABY!!!
Welcome to Season 2 of Selfed! We kick off this season with a fresh perspective on self-help, breaking down buzzwords like "high value man" and "doing the work" while sharing relatable experiences that challenge our identity. Join me and my friend Will as we dive into the complexities of finding ourselves in a world full of conflicting advice.
Selfed 33 - Cashing Out the Currency of Character
Money can buy services and interactions, but what about the currency of character? In this episode of Selfed, I explore the concept of wealth in character traits and how they influence our interactions with the world. Reflecting on my move to Portland, OR, I dive into what it means to be rich in character and how that impacts your reality. Let’s assess our character currency together.
Selfed 32 - Eliminate expectations
In this final episode recorded in St. Louis, I explore the connection between raising standards and eliminating expectations. Emotions run high as I reflect on the passion, excitement, and enthusiasm that come with embracing change. This episode builds on last week’s discussion about potential, showing how these concepts intertwine in our journey of growth.
Selfed 27 - The Rising cost of not living
In this episode of Selfed, I reflect on my decision to move to Portland, Oregon, despite the rising cost of living. The real cost we often overlook is the cost of NOT living—ignoring intuition, repressing natural expression, and not pursuing our passions. Join me as I explore the peace that comes with aligning with your true purpose, even when it means making tough choices along the way.
Selfed 22 - I Want Everything
In Selfed Episode 22, I explore the possibilities that arise when I shift my mindset to make my obstacles and opportunities work for me. After asking myself "What do I want?" in the previous episode, I’ve decided to take my own advice and set my goal to align with everything I desire, rather than settling for limited outcomes. This episode marks a transition as I contemplate bringing guests onto the podcast to expand the self-education perspective offered here.
Selfed 21 - What do I want?
In Selfed Episode 21, I confront my habit of conforming my needs to external circumstances. A Netflix series, near-death experience, and quality company made me realize how backwards this process is. I explore the power of belief and the impact of aligning actions with personal desires rather than external pressures. This episode also delves into the dynamics of relationships where one person knows who they are, and the other doesn’t—leading to potential conformity, resentment, and unhappiness.
Selfed 16 - Indulge in the Extremes
In this episode, I dive into the challenge of prioritizing self-expression amidst constant distractions and urges to "do" rather than "be." Inspired by reflections from my Yoga teacher training, I explore a new practice to balance the extremes of tending to needs versus creating space for stillness.
Selfed 15 - Honesty is the 2nd best policy to transparency
This episode reflects on the shift from honesty to transparency, especially from the perspective of someone who has had the opportunity to indulge in necessary luxuries of healing during the pandemic. I discuss the realization of my financial worth and the year-long journey to break free from beliefs that no longer serve me.
Selfed 12 - i am here
In this episode of Selfed, I explore the deep connection between the body and stored emotions, focusing on how my life has been shaped by a need to prove that I deserve to be here. Through Yoga, I’ve worked on releasing these deep-seated feelings, particularly in the root chakra, and embracing the fact that simply being here is enough.
Selfed 07 - Expect success
In this episode, I explore the lessons learned from both asserting and respecting boundaries. Boundaries, whether we set them or honor them, make us better humans. The main focus is on shifting our mindset from expecting things to go wrong to expecting success. Through personal stories and metaphors, I discuss what it means to truly anticipate success in our lives and the impact that mindset can have.
selfed 06 - malleable boundaries
In this episode, I delve into the complexities of creating and upholding boundaries. After experiencing a redirecting rejection, I realized that boundaries are as challenging to uphold as they are to set. I discuss how malleable boundaries allow situations and people to slip through, leading to unwanted outcomes. The focus here is on the importance of firm boundaries in creating high-quality connections and opportunities that align with who we are.
Selfed 01 - Expectation Setting
In the inaugural episode of Selfed, I dive into setting expectations for this journey of self-education. I share my personal identities beyond surface-level associations and articulate who I am internally, setting the stage for the healing process that will be put on display throughout this podcast series.
